After - Anna Todd

I know it's been a while since I updated the blog and so sorry for that, but I'm here and really want to dedicate more time to my book blog and share wonderful book-related content with you. Excited, cause I sure have read some great books recently and feel like I have a good reading flow :)

In April I started this amazing YA book series, which I bought all 4 books in March. I did hear so much great things about this series and of course, I got curious and took the chance and bought the whole series. This is a review of the first book called After.

Synopsis

Tessa is a good girl with a sweet, reliable boyfriend back home. She’s got direction, ambition, and a mother who’s intent on keeping her that way.

But she’s barely moved into her freshman dorm when she runs into Hardin. With his tousled brown hair, cocky British accent, tattoos, and the lip ring, Hardin is cute and different from what she’s used to.

But he’s also rude—to the point of cruelty, even. For all his attitude, Tessa should hate Hardin. And she does—until she finds herself alone with him in his room. Something about his dark mood grabs her, and when they kiss it ignites within her a passion she’s never known before.

He’ll call her beautiful, then insist he isn't the one for her and disappears again and again. Despite the reckless way he treats her, Tessa is compelled to dig deeper and find the real Hardin beneath all his lies. He pushes her away again and again, yet every time she pushes back, he only pulls her in deeper.

Tessa already has the perfect boyfriend. So why is she trying so hard to overcome her own hurt pride and Hardin’s prejudice about nice girls like her?

Unless…could this be love?

My thoughts

I started it with a pretty high expectation which is always scary, cause it's not always positive to have high expectations for a book before you start reading.  We had a couple of very nice Spring weather when I read it and I spend my time outside on the porch while I was reading and when I say that the only thing I was thinking about those 2 days was this book, I really don't kidding. I couldn't put it down, so I was able to finish this book with over 600 pages in 2 days and that is something that never happened to me before :)
It was so easy to read and I could fly through it cause the story is so intense, fun, dramatic, so much mixed feelings and it was such a fun reading!

The ending which is not really the end of course as it is 3 more books, but the end really got me stunned. I had no words how the end made me feel because I wasn't prepared for it at all :) But it sure prepares you as a reader to be just more curious and want to continue Tessa and Hardin's journey.

I give After 5 of 5 stars

Have you read the After series? Or do you have plans to read it?
